Kids Bedroom Styling 101

A lot of fun happens in a kid’s bedroom! Creating a space your little one can play and grow in is exciting, albeit sometimes a little challenging. You’re trying to tick off a beautiful, yet functional space that they’ll love now and, fingers crossed, for years to come. This challenge is where we come in –with a little advice and lots of inspiration. We’ve curated a list of our top 4 tips and tricks for creating the dream kids’ bedroom.

Play with colour

One of the joys, and challenges of parenting is that it is ever changing! The colour your child loves now is unlikely to be what they’ll love in a few years’ time and so while some are happy to do a full repaint every few years, if you’re looking for an easier long-term solution, we suggest creating a neutral base and inject their favourite colours through wall art, quilt covers, toys and décor.

Texture and patterns

The things that set an “Instagramble” kids’ room apart from others is that they play with patterns and textures in the space. Texture is an important tool in any interior stylist’s kit and adding this much loved, not so secret tip, to your kids room will instantly elevate it. Add a throw to the end of the bed, a Euro pillow to the top and a couple of themed cushions for a layered look they’ll love.

Quiet time

Just like you and me, their little growing minds need a space to get away. A little sanctuary that is theirs, where they can reflect and enjoy some quality time. We love using a canopy to achieve this sanctuary feeling! A stylish yet practical addition, complete the look and feel with some cosy cushions to make a little reading nook, and you may just get an hour of peace (although we’re making no promises!).

Playtime fun

If there is one thing kids love to do, it’s play – so focusing the styling of their room with this in mind is sure to be a winner. Keep toys tidy with rattan trunks and baskets so that clean up time is easy-peasy
