It feels like only yesterday we were talking winter layers and now we’re getting excited for the fresh feeling of spring. There’s nothing like a good spring clean to get us excited for the warmer months, leaving the hibernating layers behind and switching focus to renewal and rejuvenation. This spring season there are so many exciting and beautiful trends it really is ‘choose your character.’ We’re loving that everyone is following their own joy and creating spaces that feel authentic to them. With our three quite different top 3 trends for spring, you’re sure to find something that sparks joy, for you.
Checks and Stripes
Spring is the perfect time to try out nostalgic and sometimes whimsical patterns, like checks and stripes. Give them a try in fun shades of pastel for an effortless way to acknowledge the season that is reminiscent of picnics amongst the flowers. This trend feeds perfectly into those cottagecore vibes we’ve all been loving for a few years now.
If the pastel hues aren’t for you, we also love to see checks and stripes in bolder tones. Perhaps try caramel for something different, as seen in our Florence throw features below, or even a monochromic palette of black and white.
Barbiecore
By now you’ll have seen the world turned pink with the latest trend, Barbiecore. (If not, see all about it on our dedicated blog, Trend Alert! Barbiecore.) For a quick rundown, all you need to know is that this trend is about bringing your 12-year-old pink dreamhouse to life. From bright pink colour palettes to playful shapes and motifs. If it would make your younger self have an internal party, it probably fits into Barbiecore.
Monochrome
You may be thinking this is an odd choice following on from the bright, vibrant hues of Barbiecore, but trust us, the modern monochrome trend is a sophisticated and minimalist aesthetic that is just as popular as ‘turning the world pink.’ The trick is to keep your lines clean and simple and use neutral colours such as black, white, and even grey. The addition of grey and cream can help to keep the colour palette authentic while adding much needed dimension to the space. Give this trend a bit of visual interest by also throwing in some unusual fabrics or textures into the mix.
